Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever, Amen. Ephesians 3:20.
Did you notice that the verse above tells you that God is able to exceed your expectations according to the power that is ALREADY at work in you? There is power in you. As a child of God, you are not empty or powerless. The Holy Spirit whom you received at new birth came into you with the fullness of His power. You have what you need to advance the course of your life, to immensely impact your world and enforce your dominion over all the powers of the Enemy. Glory to God!
The Apostle Paul is an inspiring example of a believer who was fully aware of the power that was at work in him, and by that consciousness, he did great exploits for God. He preached the Gospel of Christ through mighty signs and wonders, demonstrating the power of the Spirit of God. Acts 19:11-12 says,” Now God worked unusual miracles by the hands of Paul so that even handkerchiefs or aprons were brought from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them and the evil spirits went out of them.” God can do much more through you as long as you are willing to stir up yourself. Begin by acknowledging the Spirit of Christ in you. Jesus said, “I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever. The Spirit of God is in you permanently with all His power and graces. Nurture your relationship with Him. Your daily communion with the Holy Spirit unleashes His power within your spirit. It was clearly evident in the life and earthly ministry of Jesus that the power of God was fully operational. Jesus was anointed with Power (Acts 10:38). He healed the sick, raised the dead, and opened blind eyes through the power of God. He knows it is impossible for any believer to do the work of God without the power of God at work in him. Therefore, after He mandated His disciples to go into all nations and preach the gospel of salvation, He quickly instructed them to tarry in Jerusalem until they were endued with power. Their ministry success was largely dependent on the power of the Holy Spirit that they would receive. In the same vein, to excel at what God has ordained you to do; you must yield yourself to the power at work in you.
No believer is powerless. But you could feel helpless if you are not living with the consciousness of the power at work in you. The Spirit of God strengthens you with all might, according to His glorious power when you fellowship with Him. In place of bodily or spiritual weakness, you are vitalized. He empowers you through challenging times. When others are overwhelmed by the storms of life, you will still be standing strong, doing great exploits through His power at work in you. It is to your advantage to spend quality time in communion with the Holy Spirit so that your life can overflow with His awesome power!
PRAYER: Thank You Lord for Your Power at work in me. I yield myself to your Spirit in constant fellowship and I affirm that my life is overflowing with your wonder working power in Jesus’ name, amen!
