That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:9-10 KJV
Soul winning simply means sharing the good news about Jesus to the unsaved and leading them to confess Him as the Saviour and Lord of their lives. The primary spiritual responsibility of every believer is to win souls.
Telling others about Jesus should be something you are excited about especially because of the many blessings that accrue to you. You don’t have to be shy or afraid to approach the unbelievers with the Gospel of salvation. You were empowered for witnessing when you received the Holy Spirit. Acts 1:8 says, ” But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me…”
The rewards of Soul winning are numerous. 1 Corinthians 3:14 says, “If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.” Your life begins to glow like the stars when you get involved in soul winning. The glory of God is seen upon you, and His blessings easily come into your life. Daniel 12:3, says, “And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.”
Even your health is insured, and God is committed to your success in life. Proverbs 13:17 says, ” …a faithful ambassador is health.” When you evangelise, you are affording the unsaved the opportunity to escape eternal damnation, and the privilege of being recreated in Christ.
Jesu paid the price for the sins of the world. Some one has to let them know that their sins have been forgiven. It is not the will of the Father that any one should end up in hell. God wants everyone to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth about their salvation.
When you set out for soul winning, you really don’t need a complete sermon on evangelism. Romans 10: 9-10 perfectly explains what you should say to the person you are reaching out to with the Gospel: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
Simply let them know that they are only required to CONFESS with their MOUTHS Jesus as Lord of their lives and BELIEVE in their HEARTS that God raised Him from the dead. If they have questions you can’t answer, encourage them to come to church and your pastor will provide answers to their. questions.
Make up your mind today to witness for Christ. You don’t have to be a seasoned preacher or an eloquent speaker before you get involved in soul winning. Spend time praying for the people God will bring your way as you set out so that they will grant you audience as you witness to them.
Remember, there is great joy in heaven over a soul that is won. Put a smile on God’s face today by stepping out with the message of salvation in your mouth and rest assured that your life will begin to glow with God’s glory!
PRAYER: Thank You heavenly Father for the privilege to lead the unsaved to Christ. I make a commitment to seize every opportunity to win souls beginning from today in Jesus’ name. Amen.
