|Who hath saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world, began. 2 Timothy 1:9 KJV|
Amongst the numerous blessings of God is the gift of Purpose and Grace given to you in Christ. Before the foundations of the earth God had you in mind. He planned and prepared a great life for you even before you were born. In Jeremiah 1:5 the Word of the Lord says to Jeremiah the Prophet, “Before I formed you in the belly I knew you; and before you came forth out of the womb I sanctified you and I ordained you a prophet unto the nations.” There’s a specific assignment that God crafted out for you. This great assignment is His Purpose for your life which is unveiled in Christ. Ephesians 2:10 says,” For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” Today’s opening verse clearly informs you that with purpose comes grace. While your purpose means good works that God ordained for you to walk in, Grace is God’s influence upon your life that empowers you to accomplish your God given purpose. A lot of people talk about fulfilling purpose without recognizing the gift of Grace that is attached to Divine Purpose.
One sure way to frustrate the gift of grace for purpose is to ignore it or channel it into activities that do not directly impact on your purpose. In the say vein, pairing Divine purpose with human wisdom will amount to frustrations. Don’t waste God’s gift of grace: resources, abilities, time, and energy, not even your spirituality on the wrong vocation or occupation. Skills acquisition is brilliant but let your motivation for acquiring skills be your awareness of God’s divine agenda for your life. Go ahead and discover your purpose in Christ. Embrace the gift of Grace that is wrapped within your purpose and submit yourself to the Spirit of Grace and the Word. He will guide you into all truth and help you live a life of Purpose and Grace.
PRAYER: Thank you Father for the gift of Grace and Purpose given to me in Christ. I live a life of purpose, glory and excellence in Jesus’ name. Amen.
