Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." John 14:27.
Peace is a deep seated rest of your inward man regardless of what is happening around you. It is a complete state of calm and quiet. Jesus wants you to live a life of peace no matter what comes your way. Before His ascension, He made provision for all the peace that you will ever need. Read today’s anchor verse again.
Jesus knows about the diverse challenges that life will throw at you from time to time. Therefore, He left an inheritance of peace for you. Never allow anything trouble your life to the point of rupturing your peace of mind. You need to learn how to deliberately protect your heart from everything that is warring against your peace.
You may be going through financial crisis or marital storms. It could be your child’s ill health, a failed business or too many troubles on your job. Please don’t loose faith. Refuse to be overwhelmed by that situation. Let the peace of God rule in your heart and mind.
Remember God’s Word says, “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7.
So, instead of entertaining fear, take to praying and thanksgiving. Even if you feel like you have lost your peace of mind, it will be restored the moment you commit your issues to God in prayers with a heart that is void of fear and anxiety.
Peace is also a proof of faith. If you are anxious it means you are not acting your faith, and without faith you cannot please God. If you truly desire a change and you do not want that ugly situation to persist, then guard your peace of mind so that you can recognise the way out of that problem.
Every trouble has an expiration date. 1 Corinthians 10:13 says, “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”
There is a WAY out of that issue but you must be calm enough to hear God speak to your heart concerning it. 2 Thessalonians 3:16 says, “Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means…” It is God’s Will for you to enjoy peace at all times.
Learn to meditate on God’s Word because that’s one sure way to strengthen your peace. You will not only have your peace restored and strengthened, God will crown your heart and life with peace and prosperity. Isaiah 26:3 says, “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.”
Instead of worrying about your situation, talk to God about it, keep His Word in your mind, and allow His peace to guard your heart knowing that God is able to turn your situation around.
PRAYER: Thank You heavenly Father for Your peace in my heart. I chose to sanctify you in my life by refusing to allow worries and anxiety dominate my mind. I believe You are well able to change every circumstance in my favour, In Jesus mighty name. Amen
