Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself intercession for us with groaning which cannot be uttered. Romans 8:26.

God is glorified when you pray and receive answers to your prayers, but oftentimes you wonder why some of your heartfelt prayers go unanswered. From scriptures you would understand that your heavenly Father is only committed to His Word. He cannot be manipulated with the wrong prayers to act contrary to His Word. The verse above reminds you of the unique ministry of your Helper, who intercedes for you according to the Will of the Father. That’s why it’s important to pray in the Spirit as often as possible so that the Holy Spirit can play His role while you pray. Always do a motive-check before you approach God in prayer. One of the reasons some prayer requests are turned down is because of fleshly motives. God searches your deepest thought and correctly interprets the intent of your heart. He says you ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures (James 4:3).
Some persons use prayers as a means to attack their enemies. Such prayers are weak and void of power. Jesus teaches you to pray for your enemies and those who despitefully use you. It is Satanic to pray for the death or destruction of those who hurt you. It is the devil that always seeks to devour. Refuse to share in his ministry of wickedness. Jesus described him as a thief who comes only to steal, to kill, and to destroy. Jesus came to give life. Never pray for your enemies to die. Practice forgiveness and let God repay your enemies. Forgiveness doesn’t cancel out their punishments; it portrays you as Christ-like. Its only when you become revengeful that God rules out what they deserve! Proverbs 24:17-18 say, “Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, and do not let your heart be glad when he stumbles; Lest the Lord see it, and it displeases Him, and He turns away His wrath from him.”
Praying in the Language of the Spirit keeps your prayer within God’s Will and guarantees answers to your request. Let your prayers be consistent with God’s Word. Believe that all things are working together for your good regardless of the expectations of those who spite you. The fate of your enemies has been defined already. If they come against you they will stumble and fall. Therefore don’t waste your prayer time with devil or enemies centered prayers. As a child of God you are superior to the devil. Your spiritual location is in Christ, far above principalities and powers. Let your prayers be influenced by the Word and Spirit of God so that your expectations will become a reality.

PRAYER: In the name of Jesus, the Will of the Father prospers in my life. I pray by the Spirit of God’s Word and my requests are granted to me now and always, amen.
