|But grow [spiritually mature] in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be glory (honor, majesty, splendor), both now and to the day of eternity, Amen. 1 Peter 3:20. AMP|
The Word of God is life-giving. It guarantees you of peace, health, success, victory etc. You have to consistently gain knowledge of the Word for you to experience and enjoy the fruits of its message. God doesn’t want you to remain a baby spiritually. Babes in Christ are usually subject to their emotions, but mature believers live by the Word and are not controlled by their feelings. I Corinthians 3:1-3 says, ‘However, brothers and sisters, I could not talk to you as to spiritual people, but [only] as to worldly people, dominated by human nature, mere infants [in the new life] in Christ. I fed you with milk, not solid food; for you were not yet able to receive it. Even now you are still not ready. You are still worldly [controlled by ordinary impulses, the sinful capacity]. For as long as there is jealousy and strife and discord among you, are you not unspiritual, and are you not walking like ordinary men, unchanged by faith?
God’s desire is for you to grow into the fullness Christ. Your Spiritual maturity is largely determined by your growing knowledge of the truth of God’s Word. It is not how long you have been in Church that transforms your life but how well you understand and act on the Word. Increasing in the knowledge of the Word helps you live in the realities of the blessings of Christ. You become more acquainted with God and your new life in Christ. Acts 20: 32 says, “And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.
The Word of God holds a great and glorious future for you. Make it a priority to daily increase in your knowledge of the Word.
PRAYER: Thank you Father for the Knowledge of Your Word, my life is being transformed as I daily expose my spirit to your Truth.
