We have therefore been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory and power of the Father, we too might walk habitually in newness of life [abandoning our old ways].           Romans 6:4 AMP

Everyone in Christ is a new creature with no past records of sin as far as God is concerned. Christ by His death and resurrection both paid the penalty for your sin and gave you eternal life. Therefore, in Christ, sin no longer has dominion over you because you were baptized into His death buried with Him and resurrected by the glory and power of the Father. The nature of sin has been crucified and you are no longer a slave to sin, for he that is dead is free, that is, cleared from sin. Recognize and accept that your relationship with sin has been broken in Christ. Consider yourself dead to sin, its lusts and passion.  Don’t feel helpless and powerless when you are faced with temptations, instead remind yourself again of your new life in Christ. You have received the very nature of God and the gift of righteousness.  You are now righteous and alive to God. Abundance of grace is at work in you. God’s divine influence enables you to think right, talk right and act right. So let go of sin consciousness and embrace all that Christ obtained for you by His death and life. Allow yourself to gain a righteousness consciousness by regularly exposing your spirit to the truth of God’s Word. You are righteous. You are no longer a sinner. You are dead to sin and alive to God.

PRAYER: I am a new creation in Christ; my life honors and brings pleasure to God. I’m completely free from sin and I’m fully alive to God in Jesus’ name.
